At Backpackers Plus in Oban’s we offer all the freedom and flexibility of your favourite hostel accommodation but with affordable, cosy, private rooms instead of dorms. We’ve comfortable rooms for two people sharing – ideal for couples – plus rooms for small groups of three or four backpackers travelling together. All rooms have a wash hand basin, television and all bedding and a towel are included.
Backpackers Plus hostel is right in the centre of Oban – close to the seafront esplanade and under a ten minute walk from the bus/train station and ferry terminal. You’ll have your own room key and use of a well equipped kitchen, so you are free to come and go as you please and make the most of exploring Oban and the surrounding area.

There’s a fully equipped kitchen for you to prepare your own food. Whether you simply want to make a sandwich or cook a hot meal you are free to make use of the cooker, microwave, fridge, pots/crockery and plenty of hot water for the washing up afterwards. Relax in the communal dining area and help yourself to free tea and coffee.
Your room rate includes breakfast. Help yourself to our light buffet breakfast any time you feel like getting up. There's cereal, toast, scones, fruit juice and hot drinks.
Backpackers Plus has free broadband/Wifi and use of a luggage store and a laundry in neighbouring Oban Backpackers hostel.
