Beautiful peaceful cottages in a rural setting in Taynuilt, near Oban, sleeping between 2 and 6. Overlooking Loch Etive with hotels, shops and tea rooms within easy walking distance. Bonawe House is a magnificent Grade II listed Scottish country house built in 1753. It is set in 12 acres of beautiful and secluded grounds of mature beech trees and gardens overlooking Loch Etive and the Appin mountains beyond. There is easy access to all west coast and central highland locations from the house. To the rear of the main house are six cottages (sleeping between 2 and 5 people) grouped around a sheltered and pleasant courtyard cheerfully set with hanging baskets, flower tubs and shrubs. The large fig tree produces ripe fruit every autumn. All the cottages have views over the superb grounds. Situated in the main house are the 6 person Etive View apartment with its splendid views down Loch Etive and the magnificent Edwardian wing, sleeping 4 people in stately home style surroundings. The preservation order on the grounds recognises their importance and ensures they will always be a place where you can wander amongst azaleas and rhododendrons below mature beech and scots pine. Watching for buzzard, owl, heron and woodpecker to name a few of our frequent visitors. The varied nature of the grounds provides area for barbeques, picnics, reading and games. The cottages are attractively furnished with pine furniture, comfortable seating, recently fitted carpets throughout, colour televisions and new well fitted kitchens including microwaves. All sleeping arrangements are in bedrooms. The bathrooms have both bath and shower. Heating is by storage heater and instant electric heater. The Edwardian wing offers guests the chance to stay in truly magnificent surroundings, with its oak panelled living room and superb main bedroom. The Edwardian wing is also equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, CD and piano.
