
Cala Sith is a carefully modernized, fully central heated, 19th century house situated in the middle of the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte. The house can accommodate up to six people in 3 bedrooms self catering. CALA SITH, 17 Main Street, Port Charlotte, Islay Cala Sith ( a peaceful haven) is a carefully modernised, fully central heated, traditional 19th century Islay cottage which can sleep six people. Situated in the middle of the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte, the house is a convenient short walk to all amenities in the village. The fishing pier, a small sandy beach, the village pub and the village shop/post office/petrol station are all within 200 yards. Accommodation (Scottish Tourist Board 3 Star) The accommodation, which has electric central heating with full double glazing, consists of: Three Bedrooms - one double bedroom (with en suite bathroom), two twin bedrooms. Bed linen and electric blankets provided. Two Bathrooms - one en suite with bath, the other with a shower, each with basin and toilet. Towels are provided. Lounge - TV, DVD, electric 'flame effect' fireplace. Modern Kitchen and adjoining Dining room - fully equipped kitchen with all cooking and dining utensils, electric cooktop, convection oven, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, automatic washer/dryer. Dining room seats six. Small walled in patio outside - with garden furniture. Large Garage - suitable for storage of cycles, kayaks, scuba gear, golf clubs etc., with adjacent parking area The entrance hall provides storage for coats, anoraks and boots. The house is family friendly; well behaved pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Off street parking is available. The house is non-smoking throughout. Amenities in Port Charlotte The Museum of Islay Life, the Wildlife Centre, the Port Charlotte hotel and the Croft Kitchen Restaurant are within short walking distance. The Port Mor Centre, on the edge of the village, contains a modern cafe and a large children's playground. Islay The house is conveniently situated for visiting all Islay's other attractions including tours of the whisky distilleries, the RSPB wildlife centre and the several historic and heritage sites on the island. Activities include fishing (sea, loch and river), walking or hiking, pony trekking, bird watching, golfing on the championship Machrie links course, swimming at the Mactaggart leisure centre pool, or relaxing, Islay style, on the island's many extraordinary secluded beaches. Travel to Islay Travel to Islay is either by car ferry from Kennacraig just south of Tarbert on the A83 Campbeltown road; timetable available at www.calmac.co.uk or by air from Glasgow Airport - flights operated by Loganair on behalf of Flybe; timetable and online booking at www.flybe.com. Car hire and taxi services are available on the island. Tariffs The house is rented by the week, from1:00 pm Saturday. To allow for cleaning, guests are asked to vacate by 10:00 am the Saturday they are due to leave. Rates vary from £350 to £500 per week, all inclusive, depending upon season and length of stay.
