Carnain Cottage, a traditional 19th century cottage which was renovated fully and extended in 2001, sits in a delightful position on the edge of the Strand between Bridgend and Bruichladdich, with uninterrupted views across Loch Indaal to Bowmore and the Rhinns of Islay. This central location makes the Cottage an ideal place from which to explore the whole island. It is a short drive to the RSPB Reserve at Loch Gruinart, an excellent place to see many species of birds. Alternatively you may wish to try out the links golf course at Machrie, with its stunning views out over the west coast to the Oa and beyond to Ireland. The Cottage has a large kitchen/dining room with oil fired Rayburn, a sitting room with a wood burning stove, CD player and large screen LCD TV & DVD, a utility room, a shower room, a bathroom, 2 double bedrooms, 1 twin bedroom and a play room with Nicam TV and DVD, table football and a large selection of board games. Outside there is a large enclosed garden with two lawns and extensive herbaceous and shrub borders. There is a West facing patio with table and outstanding views down the loch.
